Mr Watson, the owner of Lemonora, won over 1,250,000 francs by his victory ill the Grand Prix. [Lemonora, the winner of what is described as the most- valuable raco in the world, was bred by Sir Mark Sykes. As a two-year-old he started four times, winning the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster, with Humorist second and Alan Breck third. This season ho ran second to Craig an Bran in the Two Thousand Guineas, and early this month he finished third behind Humorist and Craig an Eran in the Epsom Derby. He won the Newmarket Stakes of £2890 on May 11, but all the best horsas, including Monarch and Craig an Eran, were scratched. He was followed home by Eagle Hawk, who won only one small race last year —the Somerville Stakes—and Franklin, whose best performance was to run second to Alan Breck in the New Stakes.))
