NATIONAL DAIRY SHOW.

BIG DISPLAY AT PALMERSTON NORTH. (From Our North Island Correspondent! The nineteenth annual National Dairy Show was held at Palmerston North on Tuesday, Wednesday’, Thursday, and Friday of the week just ended, and proved to be a record one in every respect. The show itself was better than usual. There Was more life in it, and extra housing accommodation and renovations to, old buildings made a wonderful ’ difference to appearance. The entries were slightly higher than last year, and in addition the Government made an excellent display of products grown on the several State farms, which proved a valuable a-set to the show. The State display was on a most comprehensive scale, and was run oil similar lines to those which obtained before the war. The exhibition was of great educational value, and being based on the principle of an object lesson in the methods of winning from the land the utmost uroduction of which it is ’capable, it is needless to say that the display was not only a. remarkable one, but it was greatly appreciated. This fact was strongly in evidence by the number of farmers who made notes of their observations and the information conveyed on the cards, apart altogether from what they learned from those in charge of the exhibit which embodied the whole scope of the department’s operations in land cultivation. The exhibition of dairy produce was of a high standard, and probably never in the history of the association has there been such a remarkably good display of roots. The size of the products and the general quality reached clearly demonstrated (hat growers are working their holdings on more scienlific lines I he dairy produce created great interest, and if will be seen that Carrington, which won the cheese championship last year, was again successful at tho 1921 show.
