The Messrs Lnttrell Bros., the well-known Christchurch racecourse architects, are at present on a business visit to Wellington, jt is on the cards that the Wellington Racing Club will shortly make a start with the extensive alterations at Trentham. Such a scheme would help to relieve the unemployment difficulty at present existing. J. Lowe did not stop long in victoria after Insurrection faded to win a race there. He arrived at Sydney on the 15th. It is likely that Insurrection will be raced *it, the. suburban meetings there before returning to Trentham. After racing at Ricearfon at blaster time •ml the Hawke’s Bay < up meeting it is a pity that, the Kilhroney gelding was not given a spell.

Although nothing -is definitely fixed at the time of writing, your correspondent understands that G. Olarke will ride for Mr H. W. Brown’s stable next season. Additions to local owners are Mesdames T. and L. Dwan, both of whom have liorses engaged in next season’s two-year-old events. Alter racing at Hastings Gang Awa was shipp.-d south last night in company with Master Strowan. Mr W. R. Ke.mball is thinning out his big team. It is reported that Raceful Jins been sold to an Auckland buyer for ISOOgs, and that Trespass, probably the best horse in the stable, can be bought at a price. Trentham trainer H. Trelford writes your correspondent that after spending a good time in Sydney he has gone on to Melbourne, and will witness the Grand National meeting at Fiemington.
