WEEKLY MARKET REPORTS Burnside, Wednesday, June 15. Fat Cattle. —A large yarding, numbering 223 head, came forward, the quality of which was good, some extra prime heavy-weight cattle being offered. As the- number yarded was slightly in excess of butchers' requirements, prices showed a decrease of I'l per head a-s compared with last week’s sale quotations. Extra prime heavy-weight bullocks brought up to £24 10s; prime, £l7 to £l9 lUs; medium, £l2 to £l4 10s; light-weights, £8 upwards; best cows and heifers, £ll 10s to £l3 10s; medium, £9 to £11; light and unfinished, £6 upwards. The fat stool: market during the week has ehcwn a hardening tendency, and in fat cattle particularly ihero has been a sharp rise. Prices obtained during the week were equivalent to £2 5s to £2 10s per lOOl’o. Prices tor prime bullocks ranged from £l7 10s to £l9 10s; good medium. £lO to £lB. Heifers: There was also a decided improvement, and these ranged from £8 15s to £l6 10s according to weight. The store cattle market shows little improvement and the sales during the week have been few, prices remaining the same as these ruling a week ago. ! So far as sheep are concerned the stock market continues slow. The chief feature has been the sale cf a fair-sized line of four-tooth ewes in lamb at 20s, which, is tho best price for some lime. The rest of the business lias been confined to fat sheep, wethers bringing 20s and ewes 11s. The presence in ihe market of southern buyers of dairy stock has brightened the cattle market. Cows to calve in September and October have been in good demand, and a, fair number changed hands at from £7 to £-3, while from £9 to £lO was given for cows shewing extra quality. Two-year-old heifers due to calve in the spring found new owners at from £1 15s to £5 10s. Cows just at profit have realised from £lB to £2O for good quality, and from £l2 to £ls for the general run.
