REEFTON MINERS.
SATURDAY HALF-HOLIDAY CONCESSIONS. REEFTON, May 9. Tho Reefton mining companies have entered into an industrial award for one year with the Miners' Union on tiie same terms as the last, award, with a further concession granted to the men of six hours’ paytor the four hours constituting tho Saturday shift. The terms of the new agreement have been submitted to the Waiutu and Big River Branches, and have been accepted. They wili now be signed forthwith. Mr .Fagan, tho general secretary, states that the concession has been received with general satisfaction by the miners, it being a recognition bv tire employers of payment for the Saturday half-holiday. Reefton is the first miners’ union in the dominion to gain recognition of the Saturday bulf-lioliday.
