SOLDIER SETTLEMENT.
Four runs on the Moa Flat Downs have been gazetted as open to selection by returned soldiers, the term of the leases being 21 years. Applications will close at the Lands Office, Dunedin, on Monday, November 22. The runs are: Run 645, area 770 acres; run 616, area 855 acres; run 647, area 807 acres ;run 572 a, area 2500 acres. The successful applicants will be required to take licenses, expiring also at the end of 21 years, over *sections Is, 2s, and 3e, Dalmain Settlement, and section 18a, Westcott Settlement, as homestead sites. The runs are situated about 18 miles from the Beaumont railway station, and about a mile and a-half from the Ettrick Post and Telegraph Office. They »r* described as easy of access by good roads of fair quality land, and varying ii» altitude from 300 ft to 2000 ft above sea level. Two sections in the Dalmain Settle'jQint (4s and ss), containing together 223 acres,
are being opened for selection as jne property. The half-yearly rent, including halfyearly instalment on building, is £ll9. Applications will close on November 22. The land is described as practically level 270 ft to 300 ft above sea level, and capable of producing every kind of grain and food crop, and also suitable for fruitgrowing.
