Yankee Doodle, who was making his first appearance over the big fences, won the Steeplechase in good style. . First Call was a good favourite, but made a very poor showing. Scottish Knight won the hurdle race fairlyeasily, and should be useful over the small slicks. Middlemark, who hails from the same stable, fell and broke one of his hind legs, and had to bo destroyed.
