Measles and whooping cough are very prevalent in and around Waimate (states the Times). There are very few families without some children affected, and it is considered to bo the worse epidemic of these complaints experienced for some years. The school has been closed for some time. The committee decided to re-open it last Tuesday, but as there were over 300 pupils absent it will remain closed for another fortnight. The High School will be closed for another week, making three weeks in all.
For over 70 years Wolfe's Schnapps has been recognised by the medical profession.
