There is a distinct revival of the kauri gum industry, and men in the Far North are malting very la.'go cheques (says the New Zealand Herald). One man made £8 in two days, and another received £BO for his six weeks' digging. Gum buyers are also to be found everywhere, and they ore buying up all the available parcels of gum.
