TAINUI DISASTER
CHRISTCHTTRGH, February 28. When the case for the Marine Department closed to-day," in the Magistrate'* Court, in "regard to the charge of negligence arising put of the Tainui disaster, Mr Donnelly, who appeared for the Marine Department said he did not intend to call additional evidence in connection with the charge against Frederick William Partridge, Christchurch manager of the Vacuum Oil Compaay. Mr M. Myers (who appeared for Mr Partridge) said he intended to apply on Monday for the dismissal of the charge against his client, on the ground that there w.as not a word of evidence against him. There was not even sufficient to warrant the laying of the charge against Mr Partridge. The magistrate remarked that there did not seem to be any evidence against Mr Partridge. The case was- adjourned till Monday.
