(By Cable.) LONDON, September 10. Lord Inchcape states that the rumour from Australia that he is acquiring the Huddart, Parker Line is unfounded September 11. Official: The Ministry of Shipping states that if Britain, as she is fully entitled to, obtains 2,250,000 out of the 3,000,000 tons of German shipping divisible among the Allies, her losses due to enemy action would still aggregate upwards of 5,000,000 tons. September 12. The Cunard Company is embarking upon a building programme providing half a million tons. - Orders have, been placed, already for ships - averaging 20,000 tons, equipped for using oil fuel. The Cunard Company is building ships
in order to compete "with the United States Government. NEW YORK, September 13. According to a message from Boston, the Cunard Company announces that its new steamer service between Boston and Australia, via Capetown, will start on September 17, with monthly sailings. The New York Times Washington correspondent states that the United States Shipping Board announces that steamships flying the American flag comprise more than 24 per cent, of the steam tonnage of the world.
