MEDICAL OFFICERS.
Defence Headquarters has laid down a. f scale of pay and allowances for all qualified medical practitioners, officers of the New Zealand Medical Corps, who have been retained for duty in New Zealand during demobilisation. The pay ranges from £265 a year for an unmarried second > lieutenant to £750 a year for an unmarried colonel, with a professional allowance of £383 5s a year in all cases. An addition of from £45 to £55 a year is made to the pay in the case of married officers. The total of pay and allowances is as follows: — Married. Single.
Officers who are provided with rations, quarters, and houses have deductions from the allowances. With the exception of travelling allowances, no other allowances are to be drawn.
