ALLEGED BIGAMY.
CHRISTCHURCH, January 16. Walter Lauder was charged to-day in the Magistrate's Court at Christchurch with committing bigamy nt Codford, in England, ■where he went through the form of marriage with Hilda May Roud, his wife (Mary Lauder) being then alive. The magistrate (Mr M'Carthy) said he did not know whether a court in the dominion had the power to deal with the case, as the alleged offence Was committod in England. The accused "Was remanded to appear at "Wellington next Thursday, and bail was allowed.
