THE "PROPHET" RUA
SAID TO BE STILL ALIVE, WHAKATANE, January 18. The wife of the "prophet" Rua and her son came to Waimana from Maungapohatu on Thursday to attend the office of the Native Land Purchase Officer. She stated that the influenza epidemic did not penetrate the TJrewera Country to Maungapohatu oc Ruatahina. She stated that Rua, -with some of his followers, was coming to Waimana on Monday to attend the Land Office, and that only the outskirts of Urewera word affected by the epidemio over a very brief period in November
