WELLINGTON NOTES.

The Wellington District Committee meets on Tuesday next, when the case of a wellknown North Island owner, who was recently disqualified for a term, will come up for endorsement. The first of the visiting trainers to put in an appearance were R. J. Mason .and H. Cutts. R. D. O'Donnell broke the journey at Palmerston North. Punka and Silver Link is a popular pick for tho Wellington double. It is reported the horses named will be ridden by H. Gray, Mr Whitney is having a successful run down the West Coast with Trentham Rose. She is engaged at Wellington and Foxton meetings. Tho Wellington-owned Arch Lassie has arrived at Trentham from Auckland to fulfil her engagement in the Ruapehu Handicap. Philomela ricked her shoulder in the race she contested at Awapuni and is unlikely to race at Trentham.Teka, Form Up, and Cyrisian are likely to remain at Auckland for the Takapuna meeting, and are unlikely starters at 'JLteentham. Besides purchasing Loyal Arch at Auckland, the. local sportsman, Mr H. W. Brown, also secured the two .year old filly Prince Charming, .by Charlemange 11-Ver-nonia. She was bred in New South Wales. Menelaus and Mascot look none the worse for the trip to Auckland. They have been haying an easy time of it since they returned. * ' .
