BIRTHDAY HONOURS.

THE EGYPTIAN CAMPAIGN. Tlig birthday honours for operations in Egypt include the following- New Zealanders:—Companion of St. Michael and St. George. Lieutenant-colonel D'Arey Chaytor; Distinguished Service Order. Majors 0. E. Ilerous (N.Z. Medical Corps) and S. C. P. Nicholls; Military Cross, Lieutenant V. E. Adolph. Seventeen New Zealandcrs have been awarded the D.C.M. ORDER OF EMPIRE. A Gazette contains 1500 names of appointments and promotions in various grades of the Order of the British Empire for war services. Twelve conferments of Knight and Dame of the Grand Cross include" Princess Christian, the Duchess of Argyle, Princess Helena, Princess Victoria, and'Miss Agnes Weston, LI/.D. (author of naval publications). The 65 Knights and Dames Commanders include Mr Hall Oaine and Major William Orpen, A.R.A. (painter of army and navy portraits). The Cbmmsjide.'s of the Order include Mr Alfred Noyes, the poet and naval chronicler. Tho British Empire Order awards include the following New Zealandcrs: —Commander, Colonel Barker; Officers —Chaplain Burton, Majors 11. H. Hogg. H. Home, and H. Short (doctor). Captain;; H. Richard and J. Z. Hay (Y.M.C.A.).
