THE MASTERY OF THE AIR.
(By Cable.) The French are resisting doggedly in their covering positions, which are beyond the range of the enemy's b©mb«£hrowers. Evidence has accumulated of the heaviness of t£ie German losses in the recent fighting and the disappearance of the shallow enthusiasm with w hioh the offensive began. The French continue to have the best of local actions elsewhere.
