I !, Calder street, St. Kilda, in the estate of Anne Johnston. The area of the property s 14.7 poles, and it has a five-roomed dwelling >n it. Considerable interest was taken in the ale, and the allotment was eventually disposed if to Mr King for £550. Messrs Harris and Co ilso offered a freehold property in Lambeth road, Dunedin, a leasehold property in Pine Hill terrace, North-East Valley, and a freehold section in Gladstone, but in these cases the offers did no* approach sellers' ideas of values. Messrs Park, Reynolds offered by auction on the 7th the property of the late Mrs Win. Royse 27 Queen street, being part of sections 40 and 41, block XXV, containing 27 poles, and house of 10 rooms, with modern conveniences. The bidding started at £1260, and after spirited competition was purchased by Wm. A. Gilchrist at £IB7O Messrs John Reid and Sons offered at auction on the 10th two dairy farms situated at Anderson Bay; also two allotments at Vauxhall, Anderson Bay. There was a very largo a'tendance of fanners and speculators. The first farm offered, containing 22 acres 2 roods 8 poles, with house, byre., etc., thereon, went up to about £9OO, and was then passed in, as was the second one, which contains 26 acres 3 roods 3 poles, with house and particularly good byre, etc. The bidding in this case reached £I4OO. The Vauxhall allotments were not disposed of.
