CARGO PREFERENCE.
AUCKLAND, February 2. The Chamber of Commerce resolved to urge upon the Government, if Australian cargoes are carried in quantities to Vancouver to the detriment of New Zealand ship7nnnts, that something should be done to protect the interests of Now Zealand. The manager of the Union Company states that Australian cargo has no preference over New Zealand cargo on- the Vancouver steamers. The last Vancouver boat came from Sydney to Auckland with the whole of her shipping space available to' New Zealand shippers.
