HENLEY.
January' 28. —Our district, like most places in has had a splendid run of weather, giving the late crops every assistance-. The effect of tho flood is seen all around in the quality of the grass. Nothing was left of the English .grassos —all drowned out. —and only a water grass is to bo seen, which, unless it is subject to continuous moisture, is not of much account. Death. —Much sympathy was, expressed
throughout the district here over the death of Mrs Lyall, one of the oldest settlers here and at Maungatua. Her funeral was very largely attended.
