WAITAHUNA SPORTS SOCIETY.

The Waitahuna iSporto Society held its annual sports and picnic slathering on New Year’s Day. The entries for the varioua events wore good, and in some instances exceptionally so. For the chain stepping over 100 entries were received. Pipo-major . Grant, D.P.P., was on the ground, and supplied stirring music during the day and evening. The usual concert and dande was held in the evening. Mr Scotland’s appeal for “ Our Wounded Soldiers ” was a happy inspiration, the appeal resulting in the sum of £5 3s being obtained. The executive and committee are to bo congratulated on the success of the gathering under adverse weather conditions.
