A Now York cable message, of the 2nd inst., which appeared in the Australian papers, states: —Mr Gerard, late United States Ambassador in Berlin, in a speech, declared that there was no possibility of a revolution in Germany until after the war, arid then only if Germany was defeated. Such a revolution would make the French revolution look liko a picnic, owing to the Germans' inherent brutality. Mr S. T. Spain, the newly-elcctcd chairman of tho Vincent County, lias generously given instructions that his honorarium of £IOO be donated to tho Y.M.C.A. and Salvation Army War Association —£50 .tc each.
