NOTIFICATIONS OF INTEREST. WELLINGTON, September 6. Fresh regulations for the registration of orchards are published in the Gazette. They provide that every occupier of an orchard from which fruit; is sold or intended to be sold shall, in September of each year, apply for the registration of such orchard, and every occupier of an orchard from which fruit is neither sold nor intended to bo sold, shall, in September, 1919, and on each third year thereafter, make application for the registration of such orchard, and shall certify that no fruit has been sold from such orchard while occupied by him duiing the three years ended August 31 preceding. The regulations come into force on publication. The Gazette notifies that every person carrying on business as a farmer, grain merchant, or grain miller, or any other person holding stock, wheat, flour, or orchard, shall, on request, within such time or times as he may be required by the statistician t.o to do, furnish particulars as to stocks of wheat, flour, and oats held by him on a date or dates specified by the statistician. By notice in the Gazette the Minister of Internal affairs convenes a meeting of authorised representatives of fire insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand, to bo hold in Wellington on October 18. for the purpose of considering alterations for the election of members of fire boards by the insurance companies. Revised regulations respecting the constitution of hospital and charitable aid boards and the election of representatives by contributory local authorities are published in the Gazette.
