BOWLING.
WELLINGTON, December 19. The entries for the dominion bowling tournament, opening in Wellington next month, constitute a record for all events, comprising l.'U rinks, 204 pairs, and 200 singles. Altogether about 560 bowlers will be engaged, CIIPJSTMAB TOURNAMENT. The Christmas bowling tournament, held under the superintendence and direction of the Dunedin Bowling Centre, was commenced on the Caledonian, Caversham, Roslyn, and North-East Valley Greens. The tournament is confined to doubles, ana is extended to two competitions—the Provincial and City Doubles,—winners in tho qualifying round passing into the Provincial and losers into tho City. The arrangement* givQ each pair a minimum of six games. Pour games will be played to-day, and. if possible, the green winners will bo found to-night. Tho" trophies for the Provincial Doubles are valued at £3 3s and £2 Zi and in the City Doubles at £2 2s and £1 is.
