DEATHS.
FRANCIS. —In September, 1018, killed while in action in France, John Francis (Jack), only beloved brother of Mrs Donald, jun., Waikaraka Station, Masterton (late of Filleul street, Dunedin); aged 27 years. Deeply regretted. HANSEN—On September 27, killed while in action in France, John Alfred Hanson (13th Reinforcements), second son of the late Captain Hansen and Mrs C. Hansen, Stewart Island; aged 36 years. Deeply regretted. He did his duty. HUNTER. —Killed while in action in France, Dance-corporal David Hunter, eldest son of David and Jessie Hunter, 11 Jl'Bride street, South Dunedin; aged 21) years. NICOESON.—On September 27, killed while in- action in France, George Campbell Nicolson, fourth sou of Prudence Nicolson, London street. PORTER.—On September 27, 1016, killed while in action in France, David, dearly beloved eldest son of David and Margaret Porter, St. Kilda; aged 27 years. Deeply regretted. Call not back the dear departed. Anchored safe where storms are o’er; On the borderland we left him Soon to meet and part no more. REYNOLDS.—On September 17, died from wounds received while in action at the Somme front, France, Lance-corporal William Hunter Reynolds, eldest son of Wm. Eric Reynolds; in his 20th year. WALKER.—On September 27, killed while in action in France, Joseph Walker, third sou of James Walker, Achray, Rotherham (late of Timaru); aged 21 years. Laid down his life for King and Count ry. WILLOCKS.—On September 27, 1016, died from wounds re: 'ved while in action at the Somme front, France, Temporary-sergeant John Douglas Willocks (Jack), eldest son of John Douglas and Elizabeth Willocks, “ Brooklands,” Stirling; in his 31st year.
