At Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co.'s Masterton sale a fat sheep donated by Mr W. M'Kenzie was sold on behalf of the patriotic fund and realised £lOl 4s. A constable bound on a summons serving expedition last week, had a rather unenviable experience (says tho Christchurch Press). One of his blue papers waa a summons against a young: man for failng to attend drill. When he inquired at the address given he discovered that tho young man had been killed in action 12 months ago.
