ALLEGED MURDER.
CHRISTCIIURCH, July 21. Michael Carey, charged with tho murder of Frederick Allen in a street quarrel recently, was committed to tho Supremo Court for trial. Mr Caesidy, for the accused, who is a member of the Sixteenth Reinforcements, asked tho Bench to reduce the charge to one of manslaughter, but tho application was refused.
