New meat tickets are being issued to-day allowing lOoz of meat per head weekly. The bread rations of the working classes may be increased in August. Bread reserve, upon which the country is now living, is possible only by the economy of grain under the War Department. If the central purchase company had been unsuccessful in regard to
imports of grain we would have been seriously embarrassed, and it depends upon the result of the. harvest whether the present rations can be continued. The cold weather during May lias done damage, but the crops promise good yields if the harvest weather is good. Herr Batocki considers that communal feeding in the large towns is desirable
