CAPTURE OF THE BRUSSELS.
LONDON, June 25
The steamer Brussels left for Rotterdam en Thursday laden with foodstuffs and passengers, the latter mostly Belgian refugees. Six Geiman destroyers captured her and took her to Zeebrugge. Nine previous attempts had been made to capture the Brussels. Her previous escapes were due to her superior speed. Since the outbreak of the- war German torpedo boats have constantly been hunting for the Harwich boats. Spies were on the alert, giving information of the sailings and of the cargoes and passengers. The German fleet at Zeebrugge has been reinforced, and now includes 22 destroyers, several of the new type with three funnels. The destroyers when raiding are accompanied by reconnoitring seaplanes, mine layers, and armed trawlers.
