GERMAN SPY
LONDON, June 19
Lincoln, alias Tribisch, was committed for trial after making a long, rambling statement, in which he pleaded guilty to charges of forgery. He said that his crimes were due to ambition, and admitted that he had received £IO,OOO from Mr A. S. Rowntree, M.P. (whose secretary accused had been).
He declared that the present prosecution was really traceable to the Admiralty believing him to be guilty of treason. He said that at the outbreak of war he offered the Admiralty a scheme which would have destroyed the German fleet a year ago.
