ALLEGED SLANDER
SYDNEY, June 23
An action has been commenced in which Mr Griffith, Minister of Education, is suing a publican, Henry Combellack, for £2OOO damages for slander contained in an alleged statement imputing that Ministers could be bribed.
Mr Griffith, in the course of evidence, said that ever since he tackled vested interests charges had been made against his personal integrity. The defendant denied charging the plaintiff with corruption and dishonesty.
