ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

Tho annual meeting of the Sit. John Ambulance Association was held in the Early Settlers' HtSl on tho 26th. Tho Primate (Bishop Novill), president of the association, occupied tho chair, and wa.s accompanied on tho platform by officials of the association and speakers of tho evening. The adoption of tho annual report find balance sheet -was moved by Mr John Roberts, C.M.G. The report, he said, referred to the past year having been the most important tho association had ever had in its work. Though they had expended £4500 during the year, the funds had not been dispensed with undue liberality, as they began the new year with £2OOO in hand. Tho amount expended had boon extremely well spent. Dr C'olquhoun also spoke about tho good work dene by tho association. Captain Bono read the list of names of students who had won medallions, and five years' service certificates were then presented to tho following:—Cavcrsham Nursing Division—Mary Hunt, Ruth Mackensy, Fannv M'Connell, Annie Stewtrt, Christina. Mundic, Madge Wragge, Elizabeth Wragge, Louisa Todd, Lizzie Grant, Jean Cardno, Jessie Rutherford, Helen M'Knight. Dunedin Nursing Division—Marjorio M. Hooper, E. Pilkington, Julia. Pollock, Susannah pi-Hoy, Jessie Roy, Margaret Hippie, M. K. Scott, Catherine H. Woods. A comprehensive vote of thanks to tho Primate, the speakers, and entertainers was passed on the motion of tho Mayor (Mr J. J. Clark 1 , and tho proceedings closed with the National Anthem.
