MURRUMBIDGEE IRRIGATION AREAS
SYDNEY, October 20. The report of Mr Carmichael as the Royal Commissioner who inquired into the working of the Murrumbidgee irrigation areas discloses a loss on 15 Government business undertakings in two years of over £23,000, while a large percentage of the settlers are heavily in arrears. Mr Carmichael makes a number of suggestions for the better management and the recasting of the conditions of settlement and the system of making advances, which total over £123,000.
