ST. KILDA v. OAMARU

Four rinks from the St. Kilda Club journeyed to Oamaru on Monday to fulfil thair annual fixture with the Phoenix Club. Mr G. P. Mollison (president of the Phoenix Club) welcomed the visitors, and mentioned that the Phoenix Club had decided to return the visit this season. Mr Allen (president of the St. Kilda Club) thanked the Phoenix Club for the hospitality always shown to the St. Kilda players, and extended to them a hearty welcome to St. Kilda. There was a heavy gale whilst the game proceeded, and this interfered with good play. Scores:

OPENING OF TAIERI CLUB. The official opening of the Taiori Bowling Club took place at Mosgiel in tine weather on Saturday afternoon. There was a good muster of bowlers, including a number of visitors from other clubs, and an atmosphere of brightness was lent to the proceedings by the presence of a good many ladies, who also provided afternoon tea. The green was in excellent order, and a splendid afternoon’s sport was enjoyed by all who attended. Mrs Findlay then registered an excellent shot with the first bowl, and a gamepresident v. vice-president—was entered upon, and continued during the remainder of tho afternoon.
