VETERANS’ ASSOCIATION.
WELLINGTON, October 20.
The annual conference of the New Zealand Veterans’ Association was held to-day. The report urged that an endeavour should be made to have certain anomalies in the law relating to the Maori war veterans amended. Thebalancc sheet disclosed a satisfactory position. The election of officers resulted thus: — President, Sir R. Tingey; secretary, Mr R. Stidolph; committee —the president and Lieutenant Humphries. The conference expressed the opinion that the Maori war medal should, as under the present regulations, bo granted only to those who were under fire in the war.
