PROMOTION ON ACTIVE SERVICE.
Private advice reached Dunedin on the 20th that Mr K. R. Park, youngest son of Professor Park, who enlisted as a gunner in the Howitzer Battery of the Third Reinforcements, has received a commission as second-lieutenant, and is now attached to a brigade of the Royal Horse Artillery of the Regular Army in another part of Turkey. On landing in Egypt lieutenant Park was transferred to No. 1 Howitzer Battery, under Major Falla, and since the first landing, last April, has seen much active service at Anzac Cove and Suvla Bay,
