According to the Mandeville correspondent of the Mataura Ensign trappers are experiencing an extremely bad season. The suspension cf work at some of the large collieries at Newcastle is affecting the supply in several Australian ports, notably at Launceston and Hobart (Tasmania), where a mild coal famine is said to exist.
