A new seric-S of romantic stories from diplomatic life by Justus Miles Forman, a popular novelist, is commenced in the July Windsor Magazine. Two entertaining stories are contributed by W. L. George and Albert Kinross, and a large instalment of Sir H. Rider Haggard’s romance “The Holy Flower ” advances this strenuous South African drama to a further point of interest. Dornford Yates and Edgar Wallace contribute complete stories, and Halliwcll Sutcliffe relates another episode' in his romance “ White Horses.” An im portant new series of articles is inaugurated with an account of University College, London, which is to be followed by other articles on King’s College, the later developments now incorporated as London University, and the principal University Institutions of the great provincial centres. Charles G. D. Roberts is represented by a new study of wild life as sympathetic as any of its predecessors. The fine-art feature consists of a record of the career and work of that fine artist and brilliant colourist John Pettie, R.A., 18 of whoso pictures are reproduced. We have to acknowledge receipt of two issues of The Christian, a weekly record of Christian life and testimony, evangelistic effort, and missionary enterprise, published in London. Special articles on topics of interest appear in each issue, as well as brief but adequate records of current religious events.
