NEW HEBRIDES
SYDNEY, July 13. Advices received from Noumea report the arrival of the French warship Kersaint. She visited Malekula, in company with H.M.S. Torch, on July 4, in order to chastise the natives concerned in the murder of the teachers. A company of marines landed without resistance and proceeded through the bush. The natives attacked them, and several skirmishes took place. Four men in the native troops were wounded, and one Malekula native -was captured. LONDON, July 12. The New Hebrides Conference is maintaining the profoundest secrecy as to its proceedings. On the best authority it is stated that no fundamental organic changes are proposed in the existing system. Only minor adjustments are contemplated.
