POLAR EXPLORATION

LONDON, December 8. Lieutenant Pennell, who was lately master of the Terra Nova, in a letter to the newspapers, states that Commander Evans, Lieutenant Campbell, and Dr Atkinson, and other members of the expedition of 1910, and also Lady Scott, point out that, however attractive the Stackhouse expedition may be, they were unaware that Captain Scott proposed plans excepting those which were carried out by himself or his lieutenants. The writer adds that the officers of the expedition will protect themselves against the unauthorised use of their leader’s name. SYDNEY, December 4. A wireless message from the Aurora anounces that all her stores have been landed safely at Macquarie Island.
