OVERSEAS CLUB
CONFERENCE OF DELEGATES. WELLINGTON, August 29. The annual conference of delegates from the dominion branches of the Overseas Club was held to-day. It was decided to instruct the branches to celebrate Empire Day by patriotic concerts in conjunction with kindred societies, speeches to school chilclien, and bonfires on prominent hills. A proposal to have a welcome hall at the Auckland Exhibition was remitted to the Auckland branch to report. The question of having a daily ceremony at the schools, to instil Imperial ideas into the children, was left to Auckland to arrange and report to the council.
