HOME RULE
LONDON, August 20.
Mr Lundon, M.P., addressing the East Limerick Irish League, stated r-nat Mr Redmond had directed the Irish members of the House of Commons to tell their constituents that Home Rule, with the Ring’s consent, would become law on June 7. August 24.
The resistance in Ulster to Homo Rule is gradually losing its political aspect, and is developing into semi-military preparations. *Tfc is felt that the time for speechmaking is past. The Ulster Unionist Council is preparing to resist the authority of the Irish Parliament should Home Rule become law.
The insurances against riots in Belfast total £10,000,000 for six weeks. The rate is to be increased immediately.
It is stated that the Government is mobilising a brigade in Ireland under the guise of inter-divisional manoeuvres, and that it is embarking a strong cavalry force of the Avonmouth Royal Marines to j assist the Irish police.
