A NEW GOLDFIELD
BETTER THAN THE RAND
JOHANNESBURG, August 20,
Authoritative accounts have been received regarding new goldfields near Kito, in the Belgian Congo. The reefs yield 70 per cent, of gold. The field is expected to outrival the Rand.
BRUSSELS, August 21
The Colonial Minister, on being interrogated in Parliament, said he was unable to confirm the report that a great goldfield had been discovered in the Congo. ,
