MEMORIAL TO GRAVEL, OUR LATE COMRADE.

So strong a desire has been expressed by many D.L.F., more especially by the older members, that some steps should be taken to raise a modest immoral to their late comrade, Gravel, that I have agreed to receive and acknowledge subscriptions with the object of erecting a headstone o\er the grave in which hie remains now rest. Thanks to Boy, we have now the permission of Gravel's eldest sister to honour Gravel's heroic life among us by a fitting memorial. In reply to his request, eho writes: —“I must ineleed thank you and all D.L.F. for the great kindness you have shown in thinking of erecting a memorial to dear Sandy. I willingly give my consent to you to do so. I do trust that many a little word spoken by him from time to time may bo the means in God’s hands of blessing someone. Ho died with the sword of the Lord (his Bible) beside him. I would like to add that any sum, however small, will be welcomed. It is not the amount but the spirit in which it is given that matters. The memorial should be a tribute from D.L.F.-dom to mark their admiration of the brave, sunny spirit who bore with real heroism sufferings from which the stoutest might quail.
