CANADA AND THE EAST
VANCOUVER, August 21. Interviewed on his arrival here Mr Foster, the Canadian Minister of Commerce, said nothing more definite would be done in the direction of a CanadianChinesc trade treaty until the political conditions in China had become more stable. There were tremendous commercial and trade possibilities between China, Japan, and ail countries bordering on the Pacific. The question of a fast freight service between Canada, China, and Japan had been mooted, and was likely to be consummated.
