NEW ZEALAND ARTILLERY.
WELLINGTON, August 14. The nates of pay for (lie non-commis-sioned officers and men of the Royal New Zealand Artillery Permanent Force have been increased as from June 1 last by amounts ranging from Is to Is 9d per day. It is hoped by the defence authorities that this "ill encourage the best class of men to enlist in this regiment. Recruits join as probationer gunners and drivers at 7s 3d per day, from which the rates of payrise to 12s for warrant officers and artificers.
