FRACAS IN A TRAMCAR.
WANGANUI, August 14. A man named M'lvor one of the slaughtermen who struck at the Castlecliff Freezing Works, but who is now a labourer, was charged at the Magistrate’s Court to-day with using profane and obscene language in a tramcar, a so-called ‘scab” being the victim. The incident cost a £lO fine, with £1 16s costs. After getting out of -the tramcar a free fight followed, the result being that M'lvor was charged with assault. A fine of £5, with costs £1 16s, was the sequel to this. M’lvor was given 24 hours to pay the £lB 12s.
