THE COLOUR LINE
LONDON, August 4. The Gopal of Gokhale in addressing the London Indian Association, which has been formed for the benefit of Indian students, said the position of the latter in England had steadily grown more difficult. They were now treated with bare tolerance, and in a few cases with positive dislike. The main cause of the growing racial colour prejudice was due partly to the new school of Imperialism, which regarded the world as being for the whites and looked on the other races as a footstool, and partly to the greater share which the self-governing dominions were acquiring in shaping the Imperial policy.
