AUSTRALIAN BUTTER.
MELBOURNE, July 30. Sir CL Reid, in his annual report, urges the, need of a searching inquiry into the treatment of Australian butter in England. “ The hidden mysteries of this trade,” he ears, “should be thoroughly probed by a special commissioner. Such an inquiry might arrest the developments of trade substitutes for butter, of which the consumption is greatly increasing.”
