INSURANCE ON PRODUCE.
LONDON. July 31. The Morning Post states that Lloyds and the underwriters have decided to raise the New Zealand-Homeward insurance rates by 2s 6d per cent, except for meat and grain. They will similarly raise the Australian-Homeward rates directly an agreement can be signed. The Morning Post comments that it is remarkable that meat has been exempted. It adds that it will be interesting to see how far the additional 2s 6d on Australian cargoes can be made effective.
